Working in the medium of pigmented pastels, Candace’s paintings are aptly described as a fluid melding of organic and biomorphic shapes that take the viewer along a stream of sub conscience thought within surreal landscapes.  Her process is a unique correlation between oil painting and traditional pastel techniques.  This process allows for a well developed surface which adds a dimension to her work that is more aligned with oils than pastels.  This tactile quality is evident in the landscapes and is harmoniously juxtaposed with translucent orbs, a repeating image that has personal significance to the artist    

Candace resides in Santa Fe and received her BA in Studio Art at The University of Texas at Austin.
